Quantellia's Lorien Pratt authors telecommunications case studies for the TM
Dr. Pratt was honored to be invited once again this year to
author case studies describing the most innovative and successful projects
conducted by telecom service providers around the world, published in the TM
Forum's 2014 Case Study Handbook.
In a time of radical change for the communications industry, these companies are facing unprecedented complexity in their businesses,
and are often faced with "save the company" decisions as they compete with new market entrants.
The report covers initiatives including China Mobile's transformation to a service-centric business, Telekom Malaysia's launch of Metro Ethernet within 10 months, and Ericsson's use of a standards-based infrastructure.
Also included are case studies showing innovative new business models being pursued by service providers, such as Detecon's work with a German operator to offer a health service to support diabetes monitoring, and British Telecom's new Life Sciences division.
The Case Study Handbook is organized into three sections: covering Agile IT,
Customer Engagement, and New Digital Services. Sponsored by
the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and etiya, this report captures the state of the industry in this turbulent time.

Quantellia's World Modeler™ software is shown at the United Nations, as part of the Forbes 400 annual conference:
In late May of 2013, Quantellia was approached by
Last Mile Health to consider
building a model that would help to analyze the scaling impacts of its
revolutionary and effective approach to addressing childhood mortality in
Said Last Mile Health's CEO and co-founder Raj Panjabi:
was preparing my presentation for the United Nations at the Forbes 400 conference
in June of 2013, I reached out to Quantellia to ask if they could help to build
a decision model to analyze and illustrate the impact of Last Mile Health Front
Line Health Workers on childhood mortality in Liberia. The modeling
process, and subsequent video, has helped me open my eyes to my own business.
Our team displayed the video at the United Nations in a breakout session with
Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and several of the Forbes 400 in
In my opinion, a systems view is essential to understanding the impact of
programs such as Last Mile Health. I believe that Quantellia has
created a breakthrough technology that allows system modeling to be done rapidly
and cost-effectively. This capability is an essential component of “factivism”
: facts without systems understanding can only go so far.”

Liberia, in the
